In the spirit of Independence Day, I'd like you to pause for a moment to think about what yoga pose you do on your own independently without support from props or modifications.
Did you really think on it, or just decided to save time and keep reading? :)
Got one? Now fill in the blanks here - When I am on my yoga mat in __________ pose I can almost reach _________. I feel courageous that I am trying to do this pose on my own without assistants from props or a yoga instructor. If I were to have assistance I would feel __________. However I do not feel completely stable in that pose, but keep trying each time without props to see if eventually I will achieve my goal.
Now think on this --- If you were to use a a block or a strap and have a yoga instructor help you deepen the pose, what do you think would happen? And how would that feel?
I'll tell you what will happen. YOU will achieve your goal quicker than your current method of being independent and unstable.
